About the Isfahan University of Medical Sciences (IUMS)

Isfahan University of Medical Sciences (IUMS) was established in 1946. Following the development of an Iranian nationwide health network and the integration of health services provision and medical education in 1985, Isfahan University of Medical Sciences and Health Services was inaugurated to focus on education, training and research in medical sciences and health services. At present IUMS includes ten schools, namely School of Advanced Medical Technology, School of Allied Medical Sciences, School of Dentistry, School of Health, School of Management & Medical Information Sciences, School of Medicine, School of Nursing & Midwifery, School of Nutrition & Food Sciences, School of Pharmacy & Pharmaceutical Sciences and School of Rehabilitation Sciences. The Iranian journal of Nursing and Midwifery Research (IJNMR) covers by the School of Nursing and Midwifery of IUMS.

Vision: School of Nursing and Midwifery of IUMS based on the principle of "healthy human is centered for sustainable development". It believes in innovation in the training, research and care while maintaining its first place in the country.

Mission: School of Nursing and Midwifery of IUMS is one of the most prominent schools in Iran which is actively engaged in training of skilled, committed, creative, thoughtful, effective and efficient manpower at the undergraduate, master and Ph.D course for providing nursing and midwifery services in the areas of health, treatment, rehabilitation, training, management and support to different sections of society and by offering an educational and research services helps dynamism in professional graduates.

To improve the quality of education and research, school is responsible for planning, conducting, monitoring and evaluation of educational programs, research, nursing, midwifery as well as through internal and external quality assessment, coordinates the use of new technologies in planning, program modification, and efficiency in processes.
