Implementation Science to Improve Quality

Implementation science helps to bridge the research-practice gap by studying effective methods to increase the uptake of evidence into practice. Using implementation science methods allows clinicians and researchers to use evidence-based strategies to implement evidence-based interventions – helping to increase the success of implementation. There are several evidence-based implementation strategies available, including educational outreach visits, audit and feedback, printed educational materials, and e-learning. For the Journal of Nursing Care Quality, we urge authors to incorporate and provide detailed information on implementation science frameworks, methods, and strategies into their projects and publications.
