SCIENTIFIC EVENTS CONDUCTED IN THE MONTHS OF OCTOBER AND NOVEMBER 2022
The 46th ISP Annual National Conference ISPCON 2022 was organized at KIIT Convention Center, Bhubaneswar, from November 11-13, 2022. The official souvenir India “Krishna chronicles” – A tryst with various periodontal treatments, designed as a handbook for periodontal care, was released on the same day. The booklet is an attempt to focus on a wide range of themes concerning public awareness of oral as well as periodontal health.
The conference included 3 days of packed scientific sessions and deliberations, where the delegates got an opportunity to learn and interact with master academicians and clinicians of the specialty. Overall, the conference entailed 3 orations, 5 keynote lectures, 41 guest lectures, and 1 live surgery demonstration by renowned international and national speakers. ISP Life members presented 131 free scientific papers and associate members showcased 714 scientific posters over these days. The scientific program was arranged in diverse theme categories viz. Periodontal Regeneration, Dynamic Navigation, Periodontal Plastic and Micro Surgery, Periodontal Etiopathogenesis, Implant Rehabilitation, LASERS, Nonsurgical Periodontal Therapy, Research and Innovations. The event’s highlight was the live surgical demonstration by Dr. Homayuon H Zadeh, a pioneer of the vestibular incision subperiosteal tunnel access technique in periodontal plastic surgery. Apart from this, four preconference workshops were conducted at Institute of Dental Sciences, Ghatikia, Bhubaneswar, where the delegates received hands-on training from experts in the respective fields. The event also featured a trade fair displaying the state-of-the-art equipment and materials for use in periodontal practice [Figures 1-4].
