Considering the rapid and remarkable developments, advances and progress in the field of Assisted Reproduction globally, the Indian Society for Assisted Reproduction (ISAR) was launched in February 1991. The important objectives of this multidisciplinary society have been to encourage evidence based care for the infertile couple, continued education of those who serve them and promote research in all aspects of reproductive medicine. The extensive contributions of ISAR in the fields of eduction, patient care and research are availble at www.isarindia.net Of note are the accreditation of the ART clinics and the national ART registry (NARI). In addition, ISAR co-ordinates at international level with various academic organisations to promote the cause of reproductive medicine.
