Christina M. Freese-Decker, FACHE, is president of Spectrum Health United Hospital in Greenville, Michigan, and Spectrum Health Kelsey Hospital in Lakeview, Michigan. Ms. Freese-Decker started her career at Spectrum Health in 2002 as a postgraduate fellow in healthcare administration. The following year she became the director of system strategic planning and development, and in 2006, she became the vice president of that department and executive director of Spectrum Health Regional Hospital Network. She has served as president of Spectrum Health United and Kelsey hospitals since 2011.
Ms. Freese-Decker holds a bachelor's degree in finance from Iowa State University and earned a certificate in health informatics and master's degrees in health administration and industrial engineering from the University of Iowa. She currently serves on the board of directors of the David D. Hunting YMCA of Greater Grand Rapids. Ms. Freese-Decker was president of the Great Lakes Chapter of the American College of Healthcare Executives from 2008 to 2009 and is president of the Health Management and Policy Alumni Board of Directors at the University of Iowa. She is the 2013 recipient of ACHE's Robert S. Hudgens Memorial Award for Young Healthcare Executive of the Year. It is awarded to recognize early careerists for outstanding achievements in the field of healthcare management.
