About The Society

The Egyptian Women’s Dermatologic Society (EWDS) was was founded by Professor Zenab M.G. El-Gothamy and registered in the Directorate of Social Affairs of Cairo under number 3817 in 1991. It offers cultural, scientific, educational and social services through: seminars and training courses in different aspects of dermatology; annual international conferences; publication of a high quality scientific journal (JEWDS); therapeutic convoys to poor areas in Cairo; and raises the awareness of women in different areas of Cairo about skin diseases and how to protect against skin infections. Members are female dermatologists from the different hospitals and universities of Egypt. Membership continues to increase and there are currently around 300 members.
