We read with interest Drs. Sen and Saini’s comments on our article. We appreciate that they have looked closely into the statistics of the study.
However, we wish to clarify that although unusual, the standard deviation of the age in both groups is identical when taken to the second digit. Actually, it was 11.4732 in Group 1 and 11.4694 in Group 2. Therefore, the second digit was rounded up to 7 in Group 2. As far as the statistical analysis is concerned, it was performed by a qualified statistician using the Fisher exact test. We again verified the P values, and they were the same. However, both 0.58 and 0.99 signify that the difference was not statistically significant. The most important finding in this study is that the difference in the complications between the 2 groups was not statistically significant and that both groups were doing very well at the 12-month follow-up.© 2018 by Lippincott Williams & Wilkins, Inc.
