Probst and coauthors1 report an epithelial pigmentation ring pattern, which they call a pseudo-Fleischer ring, after hyperopic laser in situ keratomileusis (LASIK). The authors claim it is the first report of an association between hyperopic LASIK and corneal iron line. We reported this pattern of epithelial iron deposition associated with altered corneal surface topography in 3 cases of hyperopic LASIK2 prior to the publication of their article.
