Since its founding in 1974, the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery has led the field through significant advances in technology and clinical science through its educational programs, publications, and online resources. The ASCRS has become the surgeons’ primary source of up-to-date clinical information, published research, and regulatory information affecting the practice of medicine. The ASCRS empowers anterior segment surgeons to improve the vision, outcomes, and quality of life for their patients through innovative approaches to education, advocacy, and philanthropy.
The European Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons was founded in 1991 to promote education and research in the field of implant and refractive surgery and to advance and promote the study and practice of ophthalmology. The Society has over 8,000 members from 130 countries world-wide.
