Prior to publication, verbal consent was obtained from not only the patient, but from the biological mother as well.

Author contributions: E.S.M. followed the patient clinically while inpatient under the neurology service and reviewed the patient's chart and related information in scholarly articles to formulate the initial draft of the case report. V.A. followed the patient as outpatient prior to admission and reviewed and edited the initial drafts. R.A.-A. was the primary attending physician caring for the patient during initial inpatient presentation, dictated medical management, and reviewed and edited all aspects of the report prior to final submission. D.P. provided formal reads of radiological imaging while inpatient, assisted with edits of rough draft, and supplemented imaging with appropriate descriptions. I.R. followed the patient as an outpatient after initial admission and provided descriptions of dermatological findings and diagnosis in the case report section of the article.

This case report received no specific grant from any funding agency in the public, commercial, or not-for-profit sectors.
