Knowledge translation experts advocate for employing knowledge brokers (KBs) to promote the uptake of research evidence in healthcare settings, citing a 2.76 times faster uptake of clinical best practices. Yet, no previous research has identified potential barriers for KBs to promote the uptake of research evidence in rehabilitation settings. This research aimed to identify the barriers and facilitators for KBs through literature review, surveys, and semi-structured interviews.

Certified coaches are trained to help individuals discover solutions to complex problems and facilitate decision-making about what is needed to build and maintain capacity and take action. Across many sectors, coaching has been shown to enhance performance and reduce burnout, but it has yet to be systematically implemented in medicine. Our guests propose that coaching be embraced as an invaluable CPD intervention.
