Meet the Hosts

Kristopher R. Maday, MS, PA-C, is an associate professor and program director of the PA program at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center. A practicing PA since 2007, he has experience in trauma, surgery, critical care, emergency medicine, and nutritional support. He has been a full-time academician since 2011 and has won several institutional and national awards for PA education and teaching. He has written numerous peer-reviewed articles and has presented many times at the national AAPA CME conferences. He serves nationally for the PAEA End of Rotation Exam Writing Committee and is a member of the Journal of Physician Assistant Education (JPAE) editorial board. He is a fervent advocate for incorporating social media into higher education, and hosts a podcast and blog for PA students, as well as contributing to the AAPA blog on his signature segment, Professor's Corner .

Adrian S. Banning, MMS, PA-C, has been an assistant clinical professor at Drexel University in Philadelphia, PA since 2008. She is responsible for didactic portions of PA education, particularly evidence-based medicine topics. Adrian has been a PA for 11 years, having started her career in primary care with a proud focus on the veteran population before transitioning to education and developing a passion for evidence-based medicine and critical thinking topics. She has written several articles for JAAPA and JPAE and is a peer reviewer for both journals. She also has presented at the PAEA and AAPA conferences. Adrian is the section editor for Exploring Medicine Through the Arts in JPAE and the former department editor of A Difficult Diagnosis in JAAPA . She is a strong proponent of the benefits of the medical librarian-clinician team. In 2016, Adrian was recognized in BillyPenn's "Who's Next in Health" as one of 13 young Philly leaders shaping the health scene. Adrian is pursuing her doctoral degree from A.T. Still University and obtained her master's of medical science/PA certificate from Arcadia University. She is interested in the strategies of information mastery, using and applying evidence-based medicine effectively, improving empathetic patient-provider communication, and the overlap between art and science.
