Ian W. Jones, MPAS, CCPA, PA-C, has roots in the Canadian Prairies, born in Winnipeg and raised in Edmonton. He served for 3 years in the Canadian Army Reserves and for nearly 2 decades as a firefighter-paramedic before becoming a physician assistant. He completed his PA training at the University of Washington MEDEX-Northwest in 1998 and practiced in both family and emergency medicine in small villages, towns, and cities in Washington State and Alaska before returning home to Canada. After practicing in neurosurgery in Canada, he is now the program director for the physician assistant program at the University of Manitoba. His leadership roles have also included service as vice-president, president, and past president of the Canadian Association of Physician Assistants (CAPA). Ian is one of several PA leaders working hard to increase capacity for the PA profession in Canada.

Reamer Bushardt is professor and chair, Department of Physician Assistant Studies, Wake Forest School of Medicine, Winston-Salem, North Carolina, and the editor in chief of JAAPA.
