About the Journal
Infectious Microbes & Diseases (IMD) is an international open-access peer-reviewed journal that is dedicated to accelerate the dissemination, exchange and utilization of basic, applied and clinical scientific research results related to the field of infectious microbes and infectious diseases.
IMD provides rapid peer-review for articles. The Article Processing Charges will be waived for any submissions received before 31 December 2022, which are accepted for publication after peer review. For more information, please visit the Instructions for Authors.
Aims and scope
By utilizing the open-access model,
IMD aims to contribute globally to the translation of basic research findings and the evaluation of current and novel treatments, into the promotion of optimal practices for diagnosis and treatment of infections to improve the public health.
IMD strives for a rapid review process and only publishes manuscripts of outstanding quality.
IMD provides a forum where all researchers, clinicians and policymakers can exchange their ideas and learn about the most accomplished and significant advances in the field.

Infectious Microbes & Diseases (IMD) is jointly sponsored by Zhejiang University and the First Affiliated Hospital, school of Medicine, Zhejiang University and published by Wolters Kluwer and Zhejiang University Press.

The First Affiliated Hospital of Zhejiang University, founded in 1947, is a non-profit academic medical center established by Zhejiang University. As one of the top hospitals that excel in patient care, education, and research, it strives to change the course of modern medicine.
The Department of Infectious Diseases of the First Affiliated Hospital, led by Academician Lanjuan Li, has won the 1st place from 2014-2018 in a row according to the China Hospital Science and Technology Influence Ranking. The State Key Discipline of Infectious Diseases has a group of world top talents as the backbone. Since 2007, it has received 308 national-level major grants with total fund of 1 billion RMB, and published 900 articles on SCI Journals including
NEJM, 4 of which were elected as the 100 most influential international articles in China. Academician Lanjuan Li and her team also attach importance to collaboration with the world's top research institutions to enhance international cooperation and influence. A large number of talents from Zhejiang University and its First Affiliated Hospital will form a team of high-level authors.
Relying on the discipline advantages of Zhejiang University and its First Affiliated Hospital, the journal combines domestic and international experts and scholars in the field of infectious diseases and has formed a scientific and technological innovation system that is a trinity of State Key Laboratory for Diagnosis and Treatment of Infectious Diseases, National Clinical Research Center for Infectious Diseases, and Collaborative Innovation Center for Diagnosis and Treatment of Infectious Diseases. It also makes full use of the high-level publishing ability of international publishers to publish the latest research results of basic research, clinical practice and technological progress in the field of infectious diseases in a timely and comprehensive manner.
