This review section begins with a discussion of a general introductory managerial text that would be especially useful for anyone recently appointed to a supervisory post. Next come a group of books concerning the economics and financial aspects of health care. The first of these, The Economics of Health, is also a text. Others reviewed are Financing of Health Care, a reprint of a series of articles from the journal Inquiry; a Congressional Budget Office study called Controlling Rising Hospital Costs; and an examination of hospital consortia. Following these is a study of a relatively new phenomenon on the American health care scene, the hospice movement. The review concludes with an analysis of current trends in nursing home care.
