Clinical practice suggests that an enlarged uterus encountered during evaluation of postmenopausal bleeding is frequently associated with abnormal endometrial histopathology. One hundred thirty-eight patients with postmenopausal bleeding who underwent a fractional dilatation and curettage were studied retrospectively to evaluate this relationship. In addition to various clinical information obtained, it was determined that postmenopausal bleeding and an enlarged uterus have a statistically significant correlation with advanced endometrial pathology. © 1983 The American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists
