Hemorrhage from deddual tissue assodaied with pregnancy has been reported infraquently. A case of massive postpartum intra-peritoneal hemorrhage resulting from a severe decidual reaction is presented and the pathogenesis of ectopic deddua is discussed. This case was unique because it was complicated by an abruptio placenta with a stillborn infant. In faTffl of unexplained postpartum shock with an intact uterus, cervix and vagina, the obstetrician must consider intraperitoneal hemorrhage resulting from this condition
