Obstetrics & Gynecology: September 1972 - Volume 40 - Issue 3 - p 366-370 Free Abstract Rh antibody levels were titrated in 170 Rhnegative women who underwent abortion during a period of 6 months or more. Anti-Rho (D) immunoglobulin, in a dose of 200 μg completely prevented the appearance of Rh antibody after spontaneous and artificial abortion in 48 women, whereas 5 of 122 untreated controls were immunized. These results parallel the excellent results obtained with such therapy postpartum. Anti-Rho (D) immunoglobulin should be administered after abortion to every Rh-negative woman who has not already been immunized to the Rh factor. © 1972 The American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists
