Rheumatic symptoms of various types are seen more frequently, and may represent the earliest manifestations of underlying rheumatic disorders. The case of erythema nodosum presented confirms that symptoms are reversed by withdrawing the offending contraceptive, but indicates that caution should be employed in placing the patient on another estrogenic-progestational agent. © 1972 The American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists
