Electronic Evaluation of Fetal Heart Rate XI. Description of a Spiral Electrode

Abstract

Many varied types of direct electrodes have been used to obtain fetal electrocardiograms from which fetal heart rate may be derived. The most common electrode in clinical use is the clip-type. There are limitations to the clip electrode because its size and technic of application are cumbersome. A new spiral electrode is described which is easy to apply and reliable.
