The determination is done by using competitive hemaggl urination based upon the cross-reaction between the antiserum to HCG and LH. In the eugonadal female of reproductive age, the midcycle elevation of LH excretion was readily detected. The elevation was found to be 10—20 times the baseline. In the female on contraceptive drugs, the excretion of LH was significantly suppressed. In the infertile woman the pattern of LH excretion was irregular. The excretion of LH in postmenopausal woman was highly elevated, without cyclic peaks. © 1970 The American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists
