ScanMed Allows for Quick Medical Information Retrieval

Rocket Surgery Concepts has created a convenient way for first responders to retrieve vital medical and emergency information; it's all on the wrist.

ScanMed QR (Quick Response) allows customers to visit www.ScanMedQR.com and create a profile of all of their medical illnesses, medications, and allergies. After the profile is completed, customers order a silicone sports band ($24.99 per year), and each band is laser etched with the wearers' unique QR code (consists of the details on the profile).

When an emergency happens, first responders can scan the patient's QR code (by using an iPhone or Android smartphone), and instantly see the profile information. The company is working on extending this product to children, which will give parents to ability to provide medical treatment consent forms for their kids and other features.
