    Just a quick look at a map suggests Unalaska is more than 100 miles west of Hawaii. (“Hawaii is Farther West than Alaska!” [letter] EMN. 2020;42[11]:9; https://bit.ly/3ff8gZd.)

    The coordinates have Niihau at least 6 degrees east of Unalaska in the Aleutian chain. Nome and most of Alaska's west coast are also further west than Hawaii.
