Letter to the Editor
One issue with changing the time of death, admittedly pecuniary but an issue nonetheless, is that third parties will not reimburse for services to a patient who is dead. (“Change the Way Time of Death is Called,” EMN. 2019;41:4; http://bit.ly/2FL6GxP.)
I'm not speaking here about our proportionally small evaluation and management fees but the hospital Level I trauma fee, which may exceed $30,000.
