Letter to the Editor
I felt Dr. Sandra Scott Simons' article, “What It Really Means When I Say My Night Was Crazy,” was outstanding. (EMN 2016;38:1; http://emn.online/May16ERGoddess.) Sounds like some of my nights in the ED. Her use of various words such as “compassion,” “doubt,” and “anger” highlighted and illuminated the events she encountered, the course of her night, and her feelings.
Dr. Edwin Leap's article, “An Emergency Physician's Guide to Locums,” struck a chord as well. (EMN 2016;38:1; http://emn.online/May16Emergistan.) He had a great line: “EPs ask me about locums like they are planning a prison break.”
