LETTERS TO THE EDITOR
I just read Dr. Alex Mohseni's article about the asynchronous texting app. (Doc APProvED: “The Most Solvable Cause of Medical Error,” EMN 2016;38:19; http://emn.online/Apr16DocApproved.)
There is a commercially available solution that we use in the EDs at Yale-New Haven Health called Mobile Heartbeat. Everyone has an iPhone that allows texting or talk while on duty. I'm not sure it completely solves the issue because texting is easier than tracking someone down, so some texts are superfluous and still distract, but it is a step forward.
