Wait, There's More to the MOC

doi: 10.1097/01.EEM.0000480775.39513.31

The article in November's issue about the MOC cost analysis failed to account for the cost of the study guides or classes for each LLSA and board prep class. (“EPs Invest Long Hours in MOC, Costing about $2600 a Year,” EMN 2015;37[11]:1; http://emn.online/Nov15MOC.) Many candidates travel to different venues. A tremendous amount of cost and time is involved. It cost me $750 for my board prep and $400 for LLSA prep. Also take into consideration the overhead cost and time with other requirements by the ABEM before taking my boards.
