On page 520 of the article by Bhatt (2018), the statements: “The analysis further showed females with lower prevalence of acute tinnitus than males” and “The analysis revealed lower prevalence of any form of tinnitus for females than for males” are incorrect. The correct findings are “The analysis further showed females with higher prevalence of acute tinnitus than males,” and “The analysis revealed higher prevalence of any form of tinnitus for females than for males.” These were the only two instances where the results were stated incorrectly as females having a lower tinnitus prevalence than males. The article correctly states the results and conclusions regarding the higher prevalence of tinnitus in females elsewhere. The conclusions in the abstract and elsewhere in the article are not changed because of this correction.
On page 521 the statement: “This finding is consistent with previous reports (Henderson et al. 2011; Mahboubi et al. 2013; Shargorodsky et al. 2010)” is incorrect. The correct statement should read, “This finding is consistent with previous reports (Henderson et al. 2011; Mahboubi et al. 2013) but is in disagreement with the findings of Shargorodsky et al. (2010)”.
Also on page 521, the in-text reference to Henderson et al. incorrectly lists the reference date as 2015. The correct reference should be to Henderson et al. (2011) as listed in the original Bhatt (2018) article References.
