Another APTA's Combined Section Meeting (CSM) is on the books. After almost 2 years in the COVID-19 pandemic and 1 fully virtual CSM, the APTA and all its academies were able to produce an outstanding 2022 CSM in San Antonio, TX. It was great to feel safe and to see so many people face-to-face again from around the nation and abroad. Kudos to the organizers and attendees for making this past CSM one to remember.

This past CSM also brought current research presented at the Academy of Cardiovascular and Pulmonary Physical Therapy platform and poster presentation. From DPT and PhD students to faculty members and clinicians, the research presented at the conference was relevant and novel. As I mentioned to several of the presenters, please consider submitting your research to our Journal as we are always looking for novel material to publish. The Journal's Editorial Board and I understand that there are some challenges to go from an abstract to a manuscript. However, we are working on some initiatives to help junior writers and faculty members to decrease the burden in manuscript submission. Please, stay tune.

In this issue, we present you 5 research reports mostly focused in pulmonary rehabilitation and physiology. First, Rebecca Byrd et al1 studied the positive effects of 1-month prelung transplant rehabilitation on balance. Second, Catherine Stolboushkin et al2 bring us best practices for critically ill patients with COVID-19 in the intensive care unit, which will be available free online following our COVID-19 dissemination practice. In an interesting study form Brazil, Adriana Garcia-Araujo at al3 assessed chest mobility in children with asthma using cirtometry showing to be a reliable tool. On another important topic, MarySue Ingman et al4 explore the use of the Physical Therapy Healthy Lifestyle Appraisal as a new tool to assess behavior change. Finally, Elaheh Sajjadi et al5 present a pilot study seeking to determine the effects of test interface on respiratory muscle activity and pulmonary function during respiratory testing. Most of these articles have been already published ahead-of-print online in our website for early access to our readers.

After seeing first-hand the research quality presented at CSM this year, the relevant manuscripts published here and the ones that are in the pipeline, we can look forward for an exciting future ahead of us.
