Legend: The patient is asked to maintain focus on a visual target (the “big 9” at the top of a Rosenbaum Vision Screen is preferred). The examiner should note the patient’s ability to maintain stability of gaze, paying particular attention to square-wave jerks, other saccadic intrusions, or nystagmus.
