Nursing and the Arts

Author Affiliation: Distinguished Professor Emerita, School of Nursing, University of Massachusetts Amherst.

I discovered Kenko and his Essays in Idleness in Phillip Lopate’s The Art of the Personal Essay: An Anthology From the Classical Era to the Present (A Teacher’s and Writers Collaborative Book). Selections from his anthology and his discourse on the personal essay were central to the undergraduate writing course I taught at University of Massachusetts Amherst.

The author reports no conflicts of interest.
