Synopsis: The use of inhaled corticosteroids is recommended for the treatment of COPD, but there is the question of whether this medication predisposes one to an increased risk of bacterial pneumonia. This large-cohort study attempts to better define whether the discontinuation of inhaled corticosteroids can decrease the risk of serious pneumonia.
