About the Author Dr. Ashley received both her doctorate and master's degrees from the UCLA School of Public Health and remained at UCLA for eight years in the Center for Human Nutrition as an administrator and researcher. She is currently an Associate Professor and Director of the Didactic Program in Dietetics at the University of Nevada, Reno, teaching undergraduate and graduate nutrition courses. Her research interests include nutrition education, cancer prevention, and weight management, and she has authored or co-authored over 50 scientific publications. She is the principal investigator of a five-year NIH/NCI R25 nutrition-education grant for community physicians.
