It is with great remorse and a heavy heart that I inform the CJSM community that Scott Nadler, DO, a long time editor and contributor to CJSM, passed away on December 26, 2004, after an extended battle with cancer. Those of us who were lucky enough to know Scott can attest to his unrelenting desire for truth and honesty as a clinician and researcher. As a physiatrist, Scott had a passion for sports medicine and for working with athletes at all levels of experience and competition. His special interest was low back pain, and he produced high-quality research in the area of core strengthening. Among his many accomplishments, Scott was a highly regarded team physician for US Figure Skating.
Scott's death has penetrated many hearts, none more than his wife and two young children. His devotion to medicine was rivaled only by his love for his family. Scott will be missed by many friends and colleagues. But for those who knew him, remembering his big jolly smile may help bring a little smile to our faces too. With that, I say goodbye to my friend.
