Cardiovascular Endocrinology publishes peer-reviewed research in vascular disease, endocrinology, and metabolism. Particular emphasis is placed on studies that illuminate the interaction between these disciplines.

The journal serves as a single resource for cardiology, endocrinology and metabolism research, and for clinical communities. High-quality state-of-the-art reviews, invited editorials, and expert commentaries place original articles in context at the interface of basic and clinical research.

Dr. Nathan Wong is Professor and Director of the Heart Disease Prevention Program, Division of Cardiology at University of California, Irvine (faculty since 1988), holds joint appointments in the Departments of Epidemiology at UCLA and UC Irvine and Radiology at UC Irvine, and is also the past president of the American Society for Preventive Cardiology. He is also a fellow of the American College of Cardiology, American Heart Association, and National Lipid Association, and past chair of the AHA Prevention Science Committee. He is also a member of the ACC Prevention of Cardiovascular Disease Leadership Council, Membership and Credentialing Committee, Cardiometabolic and Diabetes Work Group, and Diabetes Registry Research and Publications Committee. Dr. Wong received his PhD and MPH degrees in Epidemiology from Yale University and is a cardiovascular epidemiologist and specialist in preventive cardiology, with principal research interests in subclinical atherosclerosis, diabetes, lipids, and their control and relation to cardiovascular disease. He has authored or coauthored over 250 peer-reviewed manuscripts and book chapters and co-edited six textbooks, including the Braunwald companion on Preventive Cardiology. Dr. Wong is a deputy editor for Global Heart, official journal of the World Heart Federation, senior editor for Cardiovascular Endocrinology, and serves on the editorial boards of JACC Cardiovascular Imaging and other cardiology journals. He is also the editor of the Cardiometabolic Clinical Community for the American College of Cardiology. Dr. Wong was also a recipient of the Jan Kellermann Memorial Award for distinguished contribution in the field of cardiovascular disease prevention and Distinguished Fellowship Award from the International Academy of Cardiology, and is an Honorary Member of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics. He lectures nationally and internationally on various topics in cardiovascular epidemiology and prevention.
