Brief Report: PDF OnlyPneumothorax A Complication of Catheter Biopsy?Khanavkar, Barbara M.D.Author Information Augusta Teaching Hospital, Department of Chest Medicine and Allergology. Bochum, Germany Journal of Bronchology: April 1995 - Volume 2 - Issue 2 - p 139-142 Free Abstract Following flexible bronchoscopy with a catheter suction biopsy as a diagnostic procedure for a cavitating pulmonary nodule, a patient developed a pneumothorax that required intervention. The case is presented, followed by a discussion of the necessity for postproce-dural chest x-rays or fluoroscopy in low-risk procedures such as catheter suction biopsies, particularly in the light of financial restraints in the health services. © Williams & Wilkins 1995.
