National Pressure Ulcer Advisory Panel

At its recently held 14th National Biennial Conference in Orlando, Florida, the National Pressure Ulcer Advisory Panel (NPUAP) presented 3 prestigious awards to leaders in the wound care profession. The award winners are as follows:

  • Diane Langemo, PhD, RN, FAAN, received the Koziak Award in recognition of her significant contributions to preventing and treating pressure ulcers and to the development of the “International Guideline for Prevention and Treatment of Pressure Ulcers.” Dr Langemo is president of Langemo & Associates, and adjunct faculty, University of North Dakota College of Nursing, Grand Forks.
  • Janet Cuddigan, PhD, RN, CWCN, FAAN, received the President’s Recognition Award in recognition of her signification contributions to the NPUAP and to the development of the “International Guideline for Prevention and Treatment of Pressure Ulcers.” Dr Cuddigan is an associate professor in the College of Nursing at the University of Nebraska Medical Center, Omaha.
  • Joyce Black, PhD, RN, CWCN, FAAN, received the Thomas Stewart Founder’s Award in recognition of her significant contributions to furthering pressure ulcer public policy. Dr Black is an associate professor in the College of Nursing at the University of Nebraska Medical Center, Omaha.
