Ken Uchino received his BA degree in Biology from Harvard University and MD from New York University and completed neurology residency at University of Washington, Seattle, and cerebrovascular disease fellowship at University of Texas-Houston. At Cleveland Clinic he is the program director of vascular neurology fellowship and head of research and education at its Cerebrovascular Center. His research interests encompass periprocedural and in-hospital strokes, acute ischemic stroke imaging and treatment, intracranial arterial stenosis, and health services research with over 130 peer-reviewed publications. He particularly enjoys working with residents and fellows on their research projects. Over the past 5 years, Drs. Cho and Uchino have collaborated on 15 research papers, mostly on endocarditis and strokes related to cardiac devices. He also credits his research mentors in residency and fellowship and research method courses during fellowship to help his research career.
