An error appears in the following text on page 82 of the chapter by Kumaresan et al1 International Anesthesiology Clinics .
Similar to SVO2 (which demonstrates changes in peripheral perfusion), low levels indicate increased O2 extraction, and/or decreased perfusion. Normal values range from 12% to 42%.
The correct text is as follows.
Similar to SVO2 (which demonstrates changes in peripheral perfusion), low levels indicate increased O2 extraction, and/or decreased perfusion. Normal values approximate 57% (95% CI 52-62%).
