Living Large: Insights into Managing the Obese Patient

In this issue of Anesthesia & Analgesia, a narrative review article discusses current concepts in the management of obese patients. The International Society for the Perioperative Care of the Obese Patient (ISPCOP) discussed several key issues at the International Anesthesia Research Society (IARS) 2019 annual meeting. This infographic summarizes the panel topics with a focus on point of care gastric ultrasound, noninvasive hemodynamic assessment, drug dosing of antibiotics and vasoactive agents, and intubation and extubation practices.
