Since 2011, Anesthesia & Analgesia has published a series of peer-reviewed Statistical Grand Rounds, comprising in-depth, advanced expositions on appropriate design and statistical methodology for topics of major and practical importance for anesthesia, critical care, perioperative medicine, and pain medicine research and literature. Statistical Grand Rounds articles are meant to advocate for, enable, and guide best statistical practice for researchers and data analysts. These articles address a relevant design or analysis issue either by introducing new statistical methods or by giving detailed descriptions of existing methods that are needed in the above literature. Applications to actual study data are often included, along with programming code to facilitate implementation.
