This infographic illustrates a host of factors that influence the dramatic range of intraocular pressures that fluctuate throughout the intraoperative period. This graphic by no stretch exhausts the list of interventions that raise or lower intraocular pressure and focuses on those elements most relevant to the anesthesia care provider. This knowledge may be used to modify approaches to a patient in whom the preservation of ocular perfusion pressure is of paramount concern.
