Agminated Halo Nevus: A Novel Presentation

Abstract

Halo nevus is a benign type of melanocytic nevi commonly found in children and manifests as a central pigmented part surrounded by a well-defined hypopigmented area. Halo nevi are commonly located on the trunk. The central nevus may show partial or complete regression, whereas the associated halo may persist or enlarge. The term ‘agminated nevus’ refers to a cluster of melanocytic nevi restricted to an area of the body and commonly reported with acquired melanocytic nevi, blue nevi, and Spitz nevi. To the best of our knowledge, agminated halo nevus has not been previously described. We hereby report 2 cases with clinical and histopathologic findings consistent with the diagnosis of agminated halo nevus.
