Ron Giles is a professor in the English Department at East Tennessee State University, Johnson City. He is the editor of In Place: A Collection of Appalachian Writers (Center for Appalachian Studies and Services, 1988); his poems and stories have appeared in various literary journals, including Silk Road, Paper Street, and Birmingham Poetry Review.
