LPNs AND THE NURSING SHORTAGE

AJN The American Journal of Nursing: November 2006 - Volume 106 - Issue 11 - p 14–16
Department: Letters

Editor's note: We received much mail from readers in response to “Can the Use of LPNs Alleviate the Nursing Shortage?” by Jean Ann Seago and colleagues, Policy Perspectives, and “Mentored by an LPN,” Editorial, both published in our July issue. Below is a sampling. Also, a report on the articles ran on Medscape Nurses (www.medscape.com/nurses), a Web site of the WebMD Health Professional Network, on July 20, generating heated discussion on the Web site. Susan Yox, editorial director of Medscape Nurses, describes the response (see LPNs: An Online Debate, page 16).
