The Legal Side

Q: We have nursing assistants on our medical-surgical unit, and sometimes they answer the phone at the nurses' station. Lately, a physician has been giving medication orders over the phone to the assistants; he insists he can't wait until an RN can speak with him. I'm a little uneasy about taking medication orders relayed by an unlicensed staff member. Could it get me into legal trouble? If so, what should I do?
