Abdominal pain could represent hemorrhage, perforation, infection, or obstruction in the gestrointestinal tract. What should be done immediately for this patient often becomes the nurse's problem, particularly in the emergency room setting. There are certain characteristics which should be looked for to help determine what actions should be taken.
