Frequently, good, but busy, nurses forget the family because of their concern for the patient. Used to the impersonal atmosphere of the hospital, they may not realize its effect on a relative. This nurse had been away from practice long enough not to understand what was happening to her husband in an intensive care unit, but she knew enough to be frightened by his admission to it.
