Upper Threshold for Resistance Training Volume in Trained Women—RETRACTION
The Editor-in-Chief of Medicine & Science in Sports & Exercise® is retracting this article (1) because of concerns about the veracity of the data. Two authors of the article raised questions regarding the data in the article and requested that it be retracted. The other authors and their institutions were contacted and permitted to respond. Those authors and institutions reported no irregularities in the conduct of the research. However, at the request of the Editor-in-Chief of Medicine & Science in Sports & Exercise®, four content area experts with statistical expertise investigated the data in detail, considered the author and institutional responses, and provided evaluations. Based on their reports and all pertinent information gathered, the data were judged to be highly unusual, correspondingly dubious, and insufficiently trustworthy.
Medicine & Science in Sports & Exercise® is a member of the Committee on Publications Ethics (COPE) and is committed to the very highest standards of publication ethics. Medicine & Science in Sports & Exercise® has followed the processes set forth by COPE for the handling of such matters.
