Departments: Health & Fitness from A to ZAging in AmericaByra, Madelyn B.S., M.S.Author Information Madelyn Byra, B.S., M.S., obtained her Bachelor of Science degree in Kinesiology from the University of Wyoming and Master of Science degree in Clinical Exercise Physiology from the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse. After completing her master’s degree, she worked at the University of Iowa Hospital and Clinics as an exercise physiologist in both pediatric and adult cardiology. During this time, she saw the positive impact physical activity has on cardiovascular health in these clinical populations, helping her to decide to pursue a Ph.D. focused in this research area. She is currently completing her Ph.D. at McMaster University in the Child Health and Exercise Medicine Program examining the associations between aerobic fitness, physical activity, and trajectories of cardiovascular health in children with chronic conditions.
